ULCC are proud to announce our Summer 2016 tour to Milan! We will be singing from the 27th of June to the 3rd of July. Although the exact details are to be confirmed, we will be performing at Università Cattolica, Basilica di Santa Barbara and Lodi Cathedral. We will also be singing Sunday Mass at the beautiful San Marco in Milan itself where it famously hosted the first performance of Verdi's Requiem.
We will be posting updates of our tour throughout the year, so watch this space!
We are a dynamic and enthusiastic choir of 26 singers, formed of students and former students from colleges of the University of London - a diverse and international ensemble.
The University of London Chamber Choir performs a wide-ranging repertoire from ancient to modern and popular to classical. Our recent concerts have included works by Britten, Monteverdi, Elgar and Eric Whitacre; Elizabethan madrigals and songs by Billy Joel, Cole Porter and Coldplay to name but a few.
We perform in the beautiful setting of St George's Church, London, several times a year. We have also led Evensong at Southwark Cathedral and regularly travel further afield. In the past few years we have sung in Kent, Essex and at Ely Cathedral. Following the success of our 2012 tour to Northern Italy, last summer took us to Malta where we gave a number of concerts.
The ULCC is conducted by Dr Colin Durrant. Colin has a wide range of choral conducting and teaching experience and is principal conducting tutor on the standards and training unit for the Association of British Choral Directors. He has published many articles on choral conducting and music education.
