ulcc on tourLombardy, Italy 2016
"From Crema to Como, from standing ovations to crystallising silences, from the rivers of prosecco to the many-flavoured mountains of gelato; everyone in ULCC will be remembering something special about our 2016 tour to Italy."
We had an amazing time in Italy last summer. Click here to download what our president Ian wrote about our trip!
Malta and Gozo 2014
Following the success of our first tour abroad in 2012, we set off for another in June 2014, this time to the beautiful islands of Malta and Gozo. We are extremely grateful to the Schola Cantorum Jubilate for inviting us and for helping to organise the trip.
At the heart of the tour was three concerts - two in Malta itself and one in Gozo. The first was a lunchtime recital in the old city of Valletta, at the stunning church of Ta' Giezu. The second was in the hilltop town of Mdina where the Carmelite Priory was full to bursting! For our third concert, we travelled over on the ferry to perform in the Basilica of Maria Bambina in Xaghra. This stunning venue was a spectacular place to perform and the choir really sang to its best.
We had a fantastic time on tour and the choir really gelled both musically and socially as a group. Once again, we would like to thank our hosts at SCJ Ð Silvana and Stefan Ð for all their hard work in preparation and the generosity and hospitality during our trip.
Lombardi, Italy 2012
Summer 2012 brought an exciting experience for the ULCC as we embarked on our first foreign tour together. We were invited by the Catholic University of Milan to perform a series of concerts: one in Milan itself, one in Lodi and one in Crema, all of which saw the choir sing to its absolute best.
On our final morning we were lucky enough to sing the High Mass at St Mark's Basilica, the venue in which Verdi first conducted his Requiem in 1874. This proved to be a truly magical moment for all:
We would like to thank the members of the Collegium Vocale Di Crema, and especially their conductor Giampiero, for all their hard work organising the tour and for making us feel so welcome throughout our stay.
